About Sam:
January 2006: My Grandmother passed away on Jan
5, my trip home was the same day and on such short notice I could
not take Sam with me. I was very sad in those two weeks and it did
not help much that Sam was not with me. I was told he waited for me
at the Front door, that's where I left ,so I must come back through
it. I have noticed this with Sam, when I leave through the back door
and come back through the front door, I find Sam waiting at the
back, and visa versa.
March/April 2006:
This Spring we had two weeks Germany, two weeks Florida and two
weeks Germany. Tobias, Oma and Timmy visited for those two weeks.
Sam had his vacation too: I stayed in Germany those two weeks we all
spent in Florida. Wow, what a vacation! He loves the cold weather
and he stayed with Herr Schikotanz for some in-depth training and
his first trial for BH.
Not having a club here in Orlando, Sam has no
possibility for his BH, and I am not a member of the German SV, so I
am not allowed to participate in a trial there. Herr Schikotanz
decided to help me out and be the handler. I was told Sam did
not eat the first few days, but loved the training. On the training
field, every time a group was called for Sam, he stopped dead
in his tracks looking intensely at the people entering the field in
hopes his Frauchen would come....The two weeks came to an end and I
had my Sammy boy back, I don't think I will leave him again
for such a long time.

May 2006:
Going for walks early in the morning is our latest thing. I need to
get my bike fixed, I am sure Sam would love running. I can tell he
misses the training field....
July 2006:
Ok, the biking is not such a good idea, it is ok as long as we
don't meet anyone walking their tiny dogs. Sam just can't stand
small dogs, he almost made me fall off the bike :-/
August 2006:
not much going on here, it rains just about every afternoon, is
humid and wet and way too hot to be outside with a fur coat. We keep
power-walking a few mornings in the week, but keep it to the short.
Sam likes me to hide doggie biscuits in the house and he runs around
sniffing until he finds them.
